Joseph M. Cochran
Joseph B. CochranJoseph M. Cochran concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate and land use law, handling residential and commercial real estate transactions and representing developers of large and small subdivisions. He has been associated with the firm since 1993. Mr. Cochran is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (B.A., Urban Affairs 1984) and of Washington and Lee University School of Law (J.D. 1990). Prior to attending law school, Mr. Cochran was the Director of Planning and Community Development for Greensville County, Virginia.

Mr. Cochran is active in professional and community affairs. He has served as an officer of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association, as well as its representative to the Conference of Local Bar Associations for the Virginia State Bar. He was president of the Virginia State Bar Conference of Local Bar Associations for 2000-2001 and is currently serving on the Board of Governors of the Real Property Section of the Virginia State Bar. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the local Chapter of the American Red Cross from 1997-1998. Mr. Cochran has lectured on real estate law on behalf of the Virginia State Bar and to local trade associations, and he was selected as one of Virginia's Legal Elite in the field of Real Estate/Construction for 2003 by Virginia Business magazine (www.virginiabusiness.com).

Mr. Cochran has served on the Vestry and as Senior Warden of Trinity Episcopal Church in Charlottesville.
